You're right, I am awful to you. I can't stand seeing you so happy when I'm in so much pain.
Next QuoteFrom the beginning, we rooted for Daniel Eric Gold's seemingly broke "sports guy" to get the girl (our own Betty Suarez), even when we learned that his character, Matt Hartley, comes form one of the wealthiest and most influential families in New York. And we were heartbroken to see them split up. We still wonder if Matt, now Betty's bitter boss at Mode, can forgive her enough to take her back, or just give her a break at work!
Prior to joining the cast of Betty, we remember Gold from roles in Charlie Wilson's War, War of the Worlds and Definitely, Maybe. He knew what he wanted to do from a young age: He joined the Lee Strasburg Theater as a teenager and went on to graduate from Penn State University with honors in Theatre Arts. He began his career in Chicago working on plays including Beautiful Thing, which moved to New York, where it enjoyed an extended run with its original cast. He's performed in such Off-Broadway plays as The Paris Letter, SubUrbia, and Small Tragedy, for which he received an OBIE Award in 2004.
He currently lives in Brooklyn with his family.
