Amanda is Mode's Executive in charge of Telecommunication Coordination. Okay fine, receptionist. Amanda is also a part-time model, reality show star, singer, dog lover and popular target for a couple of paparazzi. She also reads to blind children.ACTOR BIO
If you know anything about Becki Newton, you know she is taking TV by storm as Amanda on the ABC hit series Ugly Betty.
Before Ugly Betty, we saw Newton hosting the TBS celebrity interview show Movie Junky. You may also remember her guest appearances on such series as Charmed, Law & Order: SVU, Cold Case, American Dreams, The Men's Room and The Commuters.
Newton started her acting career as a child in Guilford, CT, participating in local theater and musical productions. She then took her talents to the New York theater district, where she starred in Deer in Headlights, Upon Arrival and Against Type. She has also appeared in the feature August Rush, opposite Robin Williams and Keri Russell.
Newton graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in European History. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in German, Greek and Danish. She can also add award-winning violinist and singer to her credits.
In her spare time, Newton enjoys running and training for marathons.
