Charlie Banks is a man filled with regret. Reconciled with his son after years of estrangement due to heavy drinking, he realizes he's been given a second chance at life - and doesn't take advantage of that.

ACTOR BIO

Brian Kerwin is an accomplished actor who was born in Chicago, IL. He joined the cast of One Life to Live in 2007 as Charlie Banks.

In addition to starring in One Life to Live, Mr. Kerwin currently stars onstage in the Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway production

.

Mr. Kerwin's theater credits include The Little Foxes, After the Night and the Music, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County on Broadway. Additional theater credits include Mark Taper Forum's production of Edward Albee's The Goat: or Who is Sylvia? and the South Coast Repertory's The Man From Nebraska in southern California.

He has appeared in numerous films, mostly recently as Hal, father to Katherine Heigl's character in 27 Dresses. He's starred in numerous other films, including Murphy's Romance with Sally Field and Corey Haim; Torch Song Trilogy with Harvey Fierstein and Anne Bancroft; The Myth of Fingerprints with Julianne Moore; and Jack with Robin Williams, directed by Francis Ford Coppola.

One of his first television roles was in 1977 on The Young and the Restless. Since then, he has had recurring roles on Roseanne, The West Wing, Nip/Tuck, and Big Love. He has made guest appearances on The Love Boat, Simon & Simon, Highway to Heaven, Murder, She Wrote, St. Elsewhere, Frasier, Law & Order, Boston Legal, Medium, Without a Trace, and Desperate Housewives.

He currently lives in New York City with his wife and three children.
