The good people of Llanview, Pennsylvania, lead complicated lives. In a town of questionable marriage ethics, teenagers grow up fast and fall in love quickly. The quiet simplicity of small-town living on the Llantano River is frequently upset by an over-abundance of multiple personalities who disturb the peace. Despite the jealousy, betrayal, and occasional baby-swapping, Llanview is where the Buchanan, Lord, and Cramer families struggle to retain the strong family ties that have always united them.
Multiple Emmy winner Erika Slezak portrays the town matriarch, Viki Lord Davidson, who's constantly at odds with longtime nemesis Dorian (Robin Strasser). Ensuing generations complete a cast that highlight the tempestuous relationship between Blair Cramer and Todd Manning (played by Kassie DePaiva and Trevor St. John), the continuing saga of Rex and Gigi, (JP Lavoissir and Farah Fath) and the electricity of young couple Starr and Cole. (Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy).
One Life to Live debuted on the ABC Television Network on July 15, 1968. Forty years later, the Agnes Nixon-created soap opera remains one of television’s longest-running programs. The show was the most honored show at the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2008, with 13 nominations that garnered six wins, including Outstanding Writing, Directing, Lighting, Costume Design and two wins for Original Song. One Life to Live has been lauded for its groundbreaking exploration of social issues, diverse canvas, award-winning performances and innovative storylines. Along with the history-making week of live shows in May 2002, One Live to Live is responsible for many “firsts” in Daytime television, including stories of interracial romance, illiteracy, medical misdiagnosis, racial prejudice, lupus, gang violence, and homophobia.
The importance of music on One Life to Live has also been showcased with the musical talents of cast members and an impressive list of guest performers including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, The Pussycat Dolls, Puddle Of Mudd, Plain White T’s, Rachael Yamagata, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, Jeannie Ortega, Lifehouse, Tito Puente Jr., Simply Red, Chris Botti and Erykah Badu.
