CHARACTER BIO

A man of few words, Zach is ruled by his own code of honor: Keep your word and help those deserving, no matter the method or means. Zach's normally stoic demeanor masks someone capable of feeling and loving more than most.


The Good

  • Escaped the tyrannical hand of his father Alexander Cambias by faking his own death.
  • Fell in love with Kendall Hart despite their "name only" marriage.
  • Respected comatose wife Kendall's wishes and risked her own safety in order to protect the health of her unborn child. Baby Spike was later born and Kendall recovered.

The Bad and the Ugly

  • Married Kendall Hart as a means of hurting his son Ethan, her ex-boyfriend.
  • Engineered a blackout so Kendall would not be able to act as a surrogate for Greenlee and Ryan Lavery. This action actually resulted in Kendall using her own egg as a surrogate for the couple, destroying Ryan, Greenlee and Kendall's lives.
  • The death of many women at the hands of his father, Alexander Cambias Sr.

ACTOR BIO

Thorsten Kaye joined the cast of All My Children in May 2004 as the wealthy casino owner Zach Slater.

In 2000, Mr. Kaye joined the cast of Port Charles as Irish doctor Ian Thornhart, and is also known to ABC Daytime fans as irresistible poet Patrick Thornhart of One Life to Live, a role he played from 1995-97. He has worked in a number of television series, including Sliders, Law & Order, Nothing Lasts Forever and Air America. Mr. Kaye has appeared on the London stage in such plays as The Winter's Tale, Love for Love and Tartuffe. A seasoned Shakespearean actor, he has performed in numerous theatrical productions, including Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, Love's Labor's Lost, Twelfth Night and The Taming of the Shrew.

After working with David Worth (Bloodsport) in the film The Prophet's Game, Mr. Kaye re-teamed with the director in the thriller Shark Attack II. He has also appeared in the feature films The Silencers, Deadly Desire and The Bone Collector.

An avid rugby player, Mr. Kaye played throughout Europe before enrolling in graduate school at Wayne State University. Upon earning his master's degree in theater and theater history, he joined the Hilberry Repertory Theatre Company in Detroit. He has also published a book of original poetry entitled From Timber Ridge to Daymer Gardens, with Dorothy Bridges, widow of actor Lloyd Bridges. Proceeds from the book, which accompanied a CD release of the same name, go to Give Kids the World, a charity for sick children.
