Since 1970, the residents of All My Children's Pine Valley, PA -- including its most famous citizen, Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) have seen their fair share of scandalous hookups, feuds, and devastating murders. Pine Valley luminaries include resident "White Knight," Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison), Fusion Cosmetics maven Kendall Hart (Alicia Minshew), and strong but silent Zach Slater (Thorsten Kaye). The show's signature blend of wit and social issues has given way to some of daytime's most enduring love stories, including the saga of Angie and Jesse Hubbard (Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams).

Created by Agnes Nixon, All My Children premiered on the ABC Television Network on January 5, 1970. In 2008,the show marked its 10,000^th episode and will celebrate its 40^th anniversary in 2010.All My Children has received more than 30 Emmys(R)and consistently distinguishes itself with its signature brand of humor and satire set against larger social issues, focusing on such topics as AIDS, abortion, teenage alcoholism, racial bias, acquaintance rape, spousal abuse, homosexuality, Reyes syndrome, Vietnam MIAs, drug abuse, the risks of motherhood over 40, safe sex, and organ donations, among others.The show made television history airing daytime's first same-sex kiss between two lesbian characters and it was the first show to chronicle the coming-out story of Zoe, a transgender woman.

All My Children took home the 1998 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, the third time the show received this top honor -- having also garnered the award in 1994 and 1992. The show has additionally received three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series Writing, three Writer Guild Awards, four GLAAD Media Awards and GLAAD's inaugural Out Image Award for the character Bianca Montgomery.
